The smoky clubs of Swingin' London, the Mod movement, pop art, the hippy era, Monterey, Woodstock, Wight, then the endless road, giant stadiums, devastating concerts, legendary excesses, rock operas (Tommy, Quadrophenia), cinema (Ken Russell) and tragedy (Keith Moon's death at the age of 31)... Since 1964, these brats from the west suburbs of London have been making rock history with a clatter of broken instruments and angry anthems. British youth identified with this protest band, one of the very few to have earned the esteem of punk bands. The Who: Pete the shy but bouncy student, Roger the rebellious worker, John the taciturn and Keith the madman with a heart of gold, the first drummer hero. They turned popular musical culture on its head, alongside the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and imposed an incandescent, insurrectionary sound.
Second-hand book in very good condition (language : french).
