Old school Hip-Hop collection
Hip Hop revolutionised the 1970s and 80s : its power and hard-hitting messages conquered the world, creating an urban culture that extends far beyond music to fashion, film, social behaviour and more. Old-school Hip-Hop refers to the early years of the genre, generally from the 1970s to the early 1990s. This was the era of the genre's pioneers, characterised by simple rhythms, samples of Funk and Soul, and lyrics often about partying, dancing and the challenges of everyday life. DJing and rapping techniques were at the heart of this period, and lyrics often had a positive or social message.

Hip Hop icons
Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, Public Enemy and N.W.A have given a voice to marginalised communities by tackling issues such as social injustice, suburban life and the realities of growing up there. Like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Eminem and Kendrick LamarI, they laid the foundations of hip-hop by using words to denounce societal problems.
