Somepling releases his new opus "Seeds"

With his usual discretion, Olivier Rousseaux alias Somepling signs his return with a splendid EP soberly entitled " Seeds ".

After many self-produced projects and an album in co-production on our label Plexus Records, the style of the  beatmaker from Quimper remains as recognizable as ever. The set of compositions reveals a real science of samples finely orchestrated around chiseled cuts and organic collages. Jazz in its purest spontaneous form plays an essential role; it transcends the standardized form of the hip-hop beat and offers this unique opening towards an aesthetic that is both modern and timeless.

The warm fender rhodes chords, the mysterious analog leads, the timeless percussion, the muted and evanescent bass; each element is delicately sampled, filtered, sequenced, while keeping its natural beauty intact. A raw harmony emerges from these compositions, yet all elaborated from elements more disparate than the others. Accident and mastery give rhythm to this project while operating in a soft slowness proper to Somepling's aesthetic. Behind an apparent simplicity, his compositions reveal a great subtlety and unveil a universe that is both comforting and enigmatic, like an infinite or rather unfinished reverie.
