Condition grading

M | S

M = Mint

BRAND NEW

The record is new : it has never been played. Its packaging can be opened if we need to check a detail inside (color, matrix, etc.).

M | S

S = Sealed

STILL SEALED

The record is always in an intact packaging : whether new or second hand, it has never been played or even opened.

NM = Near Mint

NO DEFECT

Second hand the record is in perfect condition. It seems never to have been played. This condition is reserved for records and covers in exceptional condition.

EX | EX-

EX | EX- = Excellent

ALMOST PERFECT

Second hand, the record is in excellent condition. It can show few very discreet marks, without any impact on the sound quality.

VG++ | VG+

VG++ = Very Good ++

VERY SATISFAYING

Second hand, the record is in a very good condition. It show a few visible marks which affect the sound quality very little.

VG++ | VG+

VG + = Very Good +

STILL IN GOOD SHAPE

Second hand, the record is in a good condition. It has a few visible marks which slightly affect the sound quality, but its listening is still very pleasant.

VG | VG-

VG = Very Good

HAS TURNED A LOT

Second hand, the record is in a medium condition. It has several visible markings that can sometimes affect the sound quality with regular clicks or little background noises in quiet passages.

VG | VG-

VG - = Very Good -

BATTLE-SCARRED

Second hand, the record is in a bad condition. It bears several visible marks which affect the quality of the sound : clicks, background noises, even occasional jumps of the groove.

And about the sleeves ?

This lexicon also applies to sleeves. In addition, we always describe as much as possible the alterations or aesthetic defects in the description of the product sheet (tears, writings, stains, etc.).
